Colorectal cancer also known as colon cancer, bowel cancer or rectal cancer. It is a cancer from uncontrolled cell growth in the colon or rectum or in the appendix. It starts in the lining of the bowel and if left untreated, can grow into the muscle layers underneath, and then through the bowel wall.
Symptoms of Colon cancer can include:
- Narrower stools
- Blood in the stool
- A change in bowel habits
- General stomach discomfort
The colon cancer signs are both hereditary and environmental factors. Colorectal cancer is often prevented through standard examinations to detect polyps. Colonoscopy is one method that we use to screen for colorectal cancer.
